More Details
- Nantou Province is located on Yushan (Jade Mountain) Range, which is the highest mountain range in the central southern area of Taiwan island. Nantou Province, with its high elevation and diverse micro ecosystems, is home to many small, family owned tea gardens.
- Cultivation Notes:
- FengHuang GuiFei Oolong belongs to a class of tea known as "bitten Oolong".
- Bitten Oolong is created when the Green Leafhopper bites into tippy buds of the tea plant, causing the leaf to oxidize while on the branch.
- The result is an instantly recognizable flavor profile, both fragrant and intense.
- To ensure that the Green Leafhooper insect population is preserved and maintained in the right balance for the production of this tea, is crucial that no chemical of any type [fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, etc...] is ever used. Only proven century-old regenerative farming methods will provide the optimal environment for the production of this rare tea.
- Processing Notes:
- Oxidized at 20% and roasted at 50% to bring out the distinct orchid aroma and honey-like nutty sweetness of the tea.
- Tasting Notes:
- Deep, mineral rich taste with a distinct orchid aroma and honey-like nutty sweetness.
- Re-steep up to 6 times, with the flavor profile changing with each steeping.
- Caffeine Level: Medium
